"Held Together"
by La'Chelle Scarlet

We were held together by you,
And who would've knew?
You would be taken,
From us by our lord.

I saw you,
That very morning,
And you were okay.
Little did I know,
The next time you would be in a casket.

I cryed and cryed for days,
But it did no good,
You didn't come back.

What was I going to do,
With out my grandpaw?
I had not a clue.
I just couldn't take a hint.

Ronny told me to quit crying,
You were in a better place,
Heaven.
It still didn't help the pain though.

Now I know,
It was for the best.
I can say,
Your happy.
And my hope is to,
See you there someday,
Grandpaw.

I can relate to this poem. Two people who are close to me died in the previous years. My grandmother died four years ago and one of my closest friend died ten months ago. She was laughing the last time I spoke to her. I never expected everything to turn out the way it did. I recieve a call the following day saying that she had a massive stroke. A week later, she was in a casket.

Yeah it's rough. I was a grandpa's girl.
